Company Visits
On the road with Goes and Sliedrecht at Hillebrand.
During a company visit, we extensively explain what the welding school does in terms of testing and, if necessary, training our own people, and we discuss the type of work being done at the company.
It is not only important to know the quality of the candidates we send to the companies, but also crucial to understand exactly what the different companies are looking for.
It may seem that the companies listed below all do the same kind of work and therefore have the same requirements for welders. However, in practice, this turns out to be different.
There are many companies in steel construction
By visiting all the companies, these differences become clear.
There can be significant differences in the desired quality of welding work.
Or the use of different welding filler materials, such as cored wires, which makes welding very different.
The photos below were taken at various steel companies, each employing a different welding method.
Multiple types of MAG welding
After a conversation, there is always time for a tour.
Here, the company can practically demonstrate what is being made and what the Covebo welder will need to do.
Besides welders, there is also a frequent demand for assemblers.
They must be able to assemble various beam constructions from a drawing.

During the tour, I always take many photos of the work, which I can later include in the visit report.

In 2021, we visited 40 companies.
In 2022, we visited 30 companies.
In 2023, we visited 32 companies.
After a visit, a detailed report is created with the client's information, the type of work they do, and a description of the welder they are looking for.
Photos are added at the end of the report to make it extra clear what it is about.
These reports are used during the search for good candidates, and all the information from these reports is used to test the candidates in a client-oriented manner.
