Test MAG 136 and MAG 138
There are many companies that do not weld with the 135 solid wire but for various reasons choose the flux-cored wires such as the 136 rutile flux-cored wire and the 138 metal powder flux-cored wire.
In this combination, the 138 is often used for flat position welding and the 136 for all vertical up welding.
These can be fillet welds (FW) or, for example, a V-groove weld with penetration (BW).
In this test, we use the V-groove weld with penetration.

Macro of the final result
During the test, the interpasses, the penetration, and the final result are visually assessed.
After the test, the workpiece is sawed through and a macro is made by polishing and etching.
Overall, this gives a good picture of the welder's skills.
All visual assessments must be satisfactory in order to approve a welder for this work.
This is also because it is often necessary to certify the welder for these methods.
