What is Execution Class?
EXC is an abbreviation for "Execution Class" and is a classification system for steel structures used in Europe,
based on the European standard EN 1090.
The execution class indicates the level of quality assurance and technical expertise required in the design,
manufacture, and installation of a steel structure. There are four different EXC classes defined in EN 1090,
from EXC1 to EXC4, with EXC4 being the highest execution class.
Steel construction.
The EXC class is determined based on various factors, such as the size and complexity of the structure, the loads
the structure will be subjected to, and the environmental conditions in which the structure will be placed.
It is important to determine the correct EXC class when designing and constructing steel structures to ensure
they are safe and durable.
Companies that design, manufacture, or install steel structures must be certified
according to EN 1090 and meet the requirements of the appropriate EXC class for their activities.
